Overview

The armored Ford Explorer Interceptor PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle) features full-time Intelligent AWD, a state-of-the-art 3.3L V6 hybrid, providing police agencies with improved power and performance. This armored Ford Explorer PPV features reinforced doors, windows, and body panels that are designed to withstand high-velocity impacts from bullets and other projectiles. The vehicle also has a reinforced suspension system and upgraded brakes to handle the added weight of the armor.


Alpine’s bulletproof Ford Explorer PPV is modified and reinforced with laboratory-tested, certified ballistic armor plating and multi-layer, bullet-resistant glass. It is also equipped with advanced security features such as reinforced doors, run-flat tires, emergency lights, and surveillance cameras. When armored to Level B6+ (Alpine Level A9) the bulletproof SUV provides protection against 7.62x39, 5.56x45, and M80 ball rounds, as well as floor protection from two (2) DM51 hand grenades.


The armored PPV is designed to be highly maneuverable and capable of pursuing suspects in a variety of terrain and weather conditions and provide law enforcement agencies with the highest level of protection and security in high-risk situations.

Alpine Armoring
