Ford F-600 Becomes a Bunker on Wheels. Meet the Pit Bull Tactical SWAT Truck!

By Elena Luchian | March 21, 2025

We are living in dangerous times in a world that is devastated by wars and natural disasters. People are building impenetrable bunkers to protect them from a full-scale attack or floods or whatever Hollywood makes movies about. Alpine Armoring is taking things seriously and has built a bunker on wheels.

The motorized bunker started life as a Ford F-600 Super Duty truck, but things have changed along the way after plastic surgery and several mechanical transplants. And a name change, of course. Now, the former F-600 is the Alpine Armoring Pit-Bull VXT .50 Cal Tactical SWAT/APC Truck. Yes, we know that's next to impossible to memorize. That's why we will just call it simply "the Pit Bull."

The vehicle was specifically designed for tactical operations, such as SWAT missions, hostage rescue, and high-risk law enforcement operations. The model has recently been upgraded, so it is now capable of protection against .50 Cal BMG. The firm calls it Level A12, which is equivalent to B7+.

The former Ford/current Pit Bull was heavily armored with laboratory-tested, certified ballistic steel and bullet-resistant glass to offer protection in challenging environments and protect those on board from gunfire, explosives, and whatever threats might come their way.

The bunker on wheels is built on the heavy-duty F-600 chassis and set in motion by the 6.7-liter V8 turbo diesel, which generates 330 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission and a 4WD system put the power down through all four wheels.

You can forget everything you know about the F-600 Super Duty. It is no longer valid. The Pit Bull is designed to put itself in the line of fire while ensuring the safety of your team, its creator claims, and considering the looks of this smooth monster, we tend to believe it.

The Pit Bull is 250 inches (635 centimeters) long, 95 inches (241 centimeters) wide, and 100 inches (254 centimeters) tall, while its wheelbase stretches along 145.5 inches (370 centimeters). 20-inch tactical HD military wheels with run-flat tires carry this bunker around. Despite its massive proportions, it can only accommodate up to four occupants.

Alpine Armoring covered the vehicle in Raptor Black paint over a gray interior sporting the XLT trim. The armored tactical SWAT truck is equipped with anti-sabotage exhaust protection. To avoid fire or explosions, the fuel tank and battery also got armoring. Gun ports showed up on the side and at the rear.

A PA/multi-siren system and strobe lights will help it make its way through the traffic jam when in a hurry. The truck also features armored computer module protection and a 360-degree monitoring system. The open-access gated rear door entry is the occupants' salvation when things go south.

Equipped with an advanced suspension and an upgraded to withstand the extra weight, the Pit Bull can roll in urban environments, off-road, and on highways with ease.
